Early Years Learning

What is a preschool?

A preschool is an early years setting where children under statutory school age have the opportunity to learn through play. Blues Preschool & Nursery is an educational charity run by a management committee of volunteers made up of parents, ex-parents and other interested parties.

Preschools are inspected by Ofsted and are required to offer the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum for all children from Birth until the end of the Reception year.

EYFS Curriculum

As a result of attending Blues Preschool & Nursery, each child will be taking part in a range of activities that link to the Early Years Learning (EYFS) framework. This allows us to support your child’s learning and development and helps to ensure they are ready when it is time to move on to their next setting, whether this be Nursery or Reception.  â€‹

Keyworking

Each child that attends Blues Preschool & Nursery will be assigned a Key Person. The key person gets to know each child and family really well, they share information and concerns and support each child in their learning journey. Giving each child and their family a key person helps us to build positive relationships.

Each key person welcomes contributions from parents so feel free to speak to them at any time.
